23km or about 15 minutes from Keflavík International Airport you can find the Blue Lagoon with its beautiful milky  blue shade water. This is due to its high silica content. The silica forms soft white mud on the bottom of the lake which bathers rub on themselves as both the mud and water are rich in salts and algae which is excellent for vibrant skin and enhanced health.  Pre-booking the entrance tickets is vital prior to your visit and is required to enter the Blue Lagoon.  The Blue Lagoon (because of its location) is ideal to visit just after you´ve arrived or before your departure if the opening hours suit.  Same as combined with Reykjanes, see below.

Duration: 3-4 hours / Price €300

Iceland is one of the best places in the world to see the Aurora Borealis, or Northern Lights. Here, at 65° N on the southern edge of the Arctic Circle, these magical wonderful lights appear when the night sky is dark enough after the bright long daylight summer days have ended.  So from September to April they can be caught if the conditions are right with a clear sky showing bright stars and an active magnetic field is present.  We won’t go ahead with this trip unless there is a good chance of seeing the Northern Lights so that your vacation time is optimized.
